About Us

Wynand Art Koch is a qualified Anthropologist, Building Biologist, Feng Shui Consultant and Ikigai Life Coach. He is also a qualified and accredited South African Cultural Tour Guide.

 

​He spent 23 years living in Taiwan, where he immersed himself in the rich traditions of Feng Shui and the internal arts of Qigong and Tai Chi. During this time, he earned professional qualifications in Feng Shui and Building Biology, and studied intensively under Master Wu, a renowned Taijiguan practitioner based in Taipei.

He qualified himself as a Forest Therapist in 2025, and to solidify his studies he traveled to the Akazawa Forest Therapy Base near the town of Agematsu, Japan in 2026 - where the first forest therapy session was held in 1982 - and considered to be the birthplace of shinrin-yoku.

​

Prior to his time in Taiwan, Wynand conducted anthropological research on South American Shamanism, Community Based Conservation and Community Based Health Care, working closely with Ayahuasqueros in the Peruvian Amazon. His work in this field led to the publication of several articles exploring the healing and spiritual uses of ayahuasca in indigenous communities.

Now based in Cape Town, South Africa, Wynand offers a unique blend of services that include Self-Drive Camping and Glamping Adventures, Forest Therapy, Tai Chi Classes, Camping Retreats and Feng Shui Consultations .

 

He continues to return regularly to Taiwan and Japan to deepen his practice and leads specialized Tai Chi and Forest Therapy Tours for those seeking to explore more about the ancient practice of Tai Chi and Shinrin-yoku.
