Guided Ikigai Journeys

Explore - Reflect - Reconnect

Our Ikigai Journeys is a mindful approach in reconnecting with nature and exploring the meaning of life or that what makes life worth living.

Our Ikigai Boot Camps are short and intense introductions to the Japanese concept of Ikigai - or your reason for being - and reconnecting with nature while camping in some of South Africa's most breathtaking nature reserves.

The Boot Camp can also be extended into a longer Ikigai Journey with more time to explore your Ikigai, practice qigong and taichi - our keiko practice - and explore more of what the Western Cape has on offer. Our journeys will take you through the Cape Fold Mountains where you will have the time to self-reflect and reconnect with nature while camping in various locations associated with the energetic qualities of the 5 elements; Earth, Water, Wood, Metal and Fire.

Our Ikigai Boot Camps can be tailored made, or you can join one of our organized camps as advertised on Facebook.

When joining our Ikigai Boot Camps, you have the option to bring your own vehicle and camping gear (BYO), rent camping gear from us, or choose our all-inclusive package with one of our fully equipped Suzuki Glampers. If we’re unable to accommodate you directly, we can arrange suitable camping gear or Suzuki Campers upon request.

A Boot Camp will typically be over 4 days (3 nights) with a program similar to the following:

Day 1: The Beginning

Interpreting, discussing and balancing your Personal Energy or Ba Zi Chart.

(You will be required to send in your date of birth, including date, time and place before arrival in order to calculate your Personal Energy or Ba Zi Chart).

Exercise 1: Learning how to interpret your Ba Zi Chart - your diet, your yin and yang cycles, and knowing when is the right time to act.

Evening Keiko Practice: Qigong (The Six Healing Sounds or Liu Zi Jue.)

Day 2: Ikigai

Morning Keiko Practice: Qigong (The Eight Essential Movements or Ba Duan Jin.)

Exercise 2: Guided by Ikigai principles and the Four Circle Model, you’ll explore the intersection of what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what brings you fulfillment - discovering your true purpose and direction in life.

Evening Keiko Practice: Qigong (The Six Healing Sounds or Liu Zi Jue.)

Day 3: Wheel of Life

Morning Keiko Practice: Qigong (The Eight Essential Movements or Ba Duan Jin.)

Exercise 3: Through the Wheel of Life, you’ll identify areas for growth and create meaningful goals and affirmations inspired by the eight life aspirations as practiced in Feng Shui - promoting balance and harmony across all aspects of life.

Evening Keiko Practice: Qigong (The Six Healing Sounds or Liu Zi Jue.)

Day 4: Ikigai Seed

Morning Keiko Practice: Qigong (The Eight Essential Movements or Ba Duan Jin.)

Setting your Ikigai Seed or Intent.

Once the Six Healing Sounds and the Eight Essential Movements are mastered, we will move on to the practice of Taichi (Taijiquan) - a more advanced form that blends the principles of qigong with the mindful discipline of martial arts. Through slow, deliberate movements, controlled breathing, and deep mental focus, taichi refines the connection between body, mind, and environment - bringing all aspects of one’s being into balance and flow.

On arrival you will receive a journal with your Personal Energy or Ba Zi Chart and all the relevant information and exercises, including a journal for you to keep, to revisit, and to track your progress in following your goals and path in life.
